World tour
Ten regions of ten stages each, a boss at the end of every region, and how new regions unlock.

The shape of the tour#
The world tour is the heart of the game: 100 stages in 10 regions on Earth, ten stages per region. Each stage is a drag race against a fixed rival. Stage 10 of every region is a named boss. Stages and regions get harder and longer as you go, and the later regions are worth more points per win (see The daily pot).
The map screen lets you pick a region, then a stage. A Mars planet is shown on the map too, with a padlock and "Coming soon".
The ten regions#
| # | Region | What you will see | Boss |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Heartland | Farmland, silos, cane fields | Asphalt Baron |
| 2 | Coast | Beach, harbour, lighthouse | Queen of the Shore |
| 3 | Highlands | Pines, switchbacks, waterfalls, clouds | Lord of the Ridge |
| 4 | Red Canyon | Mesas, cacti, a rock arch | Dust Marshal |
| 5 | Metropolis | Night downtown, neon, viaducts | Neon Overlord |
| 6 | Northwoods | Autumn forest, lakes, cabins | Warden of the Pines |
| 7 | Rainforest | Canopy, river, mist, a temple | Jaguar King |
| 8 | Frostline | Snow, a frozen lake, aurora | Frost Tyrant |
| 9 | Ember Ridge | Basalt, lava rivers, a volcano | Magma Sovereign |
| 10 | Salt Flats | A white salt plain and a record gantry | Record Breaker |
The strip is always the same drag strip. Only the surroundings change with the region. Races get longer: the first stages are a quarter mile, the later ones go up to a full mile at the very last boss.
How stages and regions unlock#
- Region 1 is open from the start.
- Inside a region, stages are played in order: win a stage to unlock the next one.
- Beat a region's boss to open the next region.
- There are no shortcuts. Everyone climbs the same ladder.
Each stage shows your best result, whether you have cleared it and the PI of the rival compared with yours, so you can judge your chances before you start.
Bosses#
A boss is the last stage of a region. It is longer and tougher than the stages before it, and a good driver wins about half the time with an equal car. The first time you beat a boss you get a Blueprint (a rare workshop part) and the next region opens. Boss stages have gold highlights on the map and results screen.
Who can clear what#
Roughly, and with good driving:
| Region | A car that can do it |
|---|---|
| 1 | A Common to start; the boss likes a good Uncommon |
| 2 | Uncommon to Rare |
| 3 | Rare |
| 4 | A strong Rare to Ultra Rare |
| 5 | Ultra Rare to Epic |
| 6 | Epic |
| 7 | A strong Epic to Legendary |
| 8-10 | Legendary, well tuned, and good driving for the last regions |
This is a guide, not a rule. Upgrading with tuning and driving cleanly both move you up a level.
What a win gives#
- Race points for the daily pot.
- Parts for the workshop (more in later stages), and extra parts the first time you clear a stage.
- A Blueprint the first time you beat a boss.
A loss gives no points, and sometimes a small chance of a part. Repeating the same stage gets less rewarding each time (called fatigue) and recovers over time, so it pays to push forward and to vary your stages. First-time clear bonuses are not affected by fatigue.
Races per day#
Each car can start a limited number of races in any rolling 24 hours (the game shows little pips and a countdown for the next free slot). A race slot is used when the race starts, even if you quit. To keep racing, switch to another car in the garage.
Every race also uses fuel, and wears tyres and the engine (see Service & wear).
