FAQ

Quick answers to the questions players ask most.

The basics#

Is Torque Club free?#

Playing the open beta costs nothing. You connect a wallet and receive 750,000 test TORQ to spend. See Getting started.

Do I need a crypto wallet?#

Yes. The open beta is wallet only: Phantom, Solflare or Backpack, on Solana devnet (a practice network). There is no guest mode. Connecting only asks you to sign a message, which is free and moves no funds.

Is the TORQ real?#

Not yet. In the beta it is test TORQ on devnet with no value. It will be reset before the real token. See TORQ.

What happens to my cars when the beta ends?#

Test TORQ will be reset before the real token exists. What happens to cars and progress has not been decided yet. Trust only what is announced on the official website and Discord; anything else is a rumour. See Safety.

Can I lose money?#

In the beta there is no real money involved: devnet test TORQ has no value. When a real token exists, the usual crypto risks apply, its value can go to zero and nothing is guaranteed. We will say so loudly.

Which devices work?#

The open beta is best on a desktop PC browser; a phone layout is coming later. The game is 3D, so it needs a recent browser with WebGL and hardware acceleration turned on. If it is slow, pick a lower Graphics setting.

Cars and crates#

What are my chances in a crate?#

They are in the table in Crates, per crate and per rarity.

What is pity?#

After 15 Street or 15 Paddock crates in a row without a Rare or better, the next one of that type is guaranteed to be Rare or better. Founders crates have no pity.

Does colour or rarity matter more?#

Rarity sets the model and the performance band. Colour sets quality inside that band. Both matter, rarity most. See Cars.

What does PI mean?#

Performance index: one number to compare cars. See Cars.

Can I be sure to get a Legendary?#

No. Crates and builds are both chance rolls. You can build cars in the Workshop from parts you get by racing, and the Workshop shows what can come out.

Racing#

Why did I lose a race I should have won?#

Look at the driving grade and the Tip on the results screen. Most losses are a late shift, a poor launch or an unused nitro. If the driving was clean, the car is the limit.

Why can't I start a race?#

Check four things: fuel, the car's free race slots today, whether the stage is unlocked, and whether your wallet is still connected. See Service & wear and World tour.

What happens if I quit mid-race?#

The race slot is still used, and you get no rewards for that race.

Points and the pot#

When is the pot paid?#

Every hour, on the hour (UTC). Each payment is 1/24 of the day's release, split by everyone's points of the last 24 hours. See The daily pot.

How long does a win keep paying?#

The points of a win count for 24 hours, so a win keeps paying in every hourly payout for a day.

Why did I get fewer points for the same win?#

Repeating a stage gives less each time, a sloppy drive scores less than a clean one, and a car with no rewarded races left (or one you bought in the last 48 hours) scores nothing.

Is there a guaranteed amount?#

No. Your share depends on the pot and on how many points everyone scores.

What is the launch season?#

A limited period after launch, when a bigger part of the pot is set aside each day. See The daily pot.

The Daily Tournament#

When does the tournament close, and when are the results?#

Entries close at 00:00 UTC (21:00 in Brasília) and the result, with the prizes, comes at 00:07 UTC. The next tournament opens as soon as one closes. See The Daily Tournament.

How many times can I race, and which time counts?#

One ticket is one attempt, up to 3 tickets a day. Your best time counts.

Can I see other drivers' times?#

Not until the close. Times and ranks stay hidden all day. You can see who has entered (names only), and after the result everything becomes public, including the replays.

What if too few people enter?#

With fewer than 3 entrants every ticket is refunded in full, with no fee.

What happens if I quit a run?#

That attempt is lost at once and the ticket stays in the prize pool. Your earlier best time still counts, and you can buy your next ticket right away.

Why is my car locked after the tournament?#

A car used in an attempt stays locked in your account until the day's result: it cannot be scrapped or listed on the Market. It can still race, be tuned and be used in the Arena. See The Daily Tournament.

The Arena#

What is the Arena?#

Ranked one-on-one duels against another player's recorded run. The faster raw time wins. See The Arena.

How do I unlock it?#

Clear stage 5 of region 1, lock an entry stake and one car.

Why was I matched with a car that seems similar to mine?#

On purpose: you only face cars within a strict performance range of yours, and that range never widens, however long you wait.

What if I quit a duel?#

It counts as a loss: you lose the wager and a little rating. Cancelling a search before a run exists is free, and cancelling a saved challenge returns your wager.

The Market#

Which fee does the Market take?#

5% of the price, paid by the seller: half to the daily pot and half to the treasury. See The Market.

Why can't I list my car?#

It may be in the Arena, locked for a tournament result, in an unfinished race, or bought less than 7 days ago. Listing also locks the car until you cancel or it sells.

How many accounts can I have?#

Limit: 2 accounts per person. Creating or using more to get around limits (tournament tickets, Arena caps, beta grants, rankings) is against the rules. If you share a home or a connection with another player and hit a limit, ask in Discord #support. See Safety.

Why can't I trade with another player?#

Accounts that look linked cannot trade with each other, and the game does not say more than that.

Wallet and withdrawals#

Can I move test TORQ in and out of the game?#

Yes, on devnet, from the on-chain wallet panel. See Wallet, deposits and withdrawals.

What does a withdrawal cost?#

A small fee for the network cost of sending the tokens (a fraction of a US cent, with a small margin on that fee, not on your amount), plus, if the wallet has never held TORQ, the one-time token account creation (about US$ 0.30 at today's SOL price). The exact fee is always shown before you confirm.

Why is my withdrawal scheduled?#

Every withdrawal gets an automatic security check. Some are sent right away and some are scheduled to be ready in 6 to 24 hours. It is automatic, you do not need to do anything, and you can cancel before it is sent to get your TORQ back at once.

Odometer, workshop, service#

My car says "Odometer empty". Is it dead?#

No. It can race for fun, be rebuilt or be pressed. See Odometer & Rebuild.

Can a tune destroy my car?#

No. A failed last step sends the tune back to level 1, but the car stays and its identity does not change. See Workshop.

Why does a car cost TORQ to maintain?#

Fuel, tyres and engine repairs are part of the game's economy. See Service & wear.

Safety#

Will the team message me first?#

Never. See Safety.

Where do I get help, report a bug or contact the team?#

In the official Discord, which is the only support channel today. For a bug, say what you did, what happened, your device and browser, and add a screenshot if you can. Never post your seed phrase or private key.

The wallet will not connect. What now?#

See "If the wallet will not connect" in Getting started.
