Car care
Service and wear
Fuel, tyres and engine condition: what each does, how they wear, and how to keep your car ready.
Why service matters#
Racing uses up your car. Three things need your attention, and all of them are managed in the Service screen:
| Meter | What it does | If it gets low |
|---|---|---|
| Fuel (or Battery for electric cars) | You need enough to start a race. Each race uses some. | You cannot race until you refuel or recharge. |
| Tyres | Keep your acceleration. They wear every race, more after a bad launch. | The car accelerates more slowly. |
| Engine / condition | Keeps the car's performance. Wears a little each race. | The car loses some acceleration. |
The Service screen tells you, for each meter, how much performance you are losing right now ("-N% acceleration" or "No wear penalty"), and how many races your current fuel or charge will last.
How to service#
- Open Service from the garage.
- Pick what to fix: Refuel (or Recharge), Change tyres or Repair engine.
- Choose the amount, or use Service all to do everything at once.
- The game shows the cost in TORQ first. Confirm to pay.
The cost of service is per point restored and scales with the car's rarity: a Legendary costs more to look after than a Common. Everything you spend on service is shown with a small dollar reference, and it goes back into the economy (see TORQ).
Tips#
Condition and value#
Wear is part of the car: it travels with it. A well-kept car races better and gives more parts if you ever scrap it.
